How can we make hand disinfection even safer?
PERFECT: The study investigates the quality of hand disinfection and its improvement through training with visual success assessment. Three standardized training sessions are completed over a period of 6-12 weeks.
Data collection is anonymous and completely self-determined – you can end the study at any time without giving reasons.
By participating, you will help develop evidence-based training methods for the whole of Europe.
The Europe-wide study is being conducted in collaboration between the Jena University Hospital and the Heyfair GmbH carried out.

Register and receive material
Registration is easy and non-binding via our participation form.
After registration, we will send you the following materials:

- Free training materials by post to your address

Determine participants and start
1-3 people from your team conduct 3 short training sessions within 8-12 weeks.
Participation: Participants should be within the last 6 months have not participated in any hand disinfection training.
Process: The specified observation periods are crucial for meaningful results. Please select the Start time for your training so that the defined time periods can be adhered to.

Training with DesiCoach®
Each workout lasts about 2 to 3 minutes.
Implementation: The training takes place with DesiCoach® 2Go, consisting of staining and decolorizing liquid. The training is accompanied by the corresponding Online instructions (simple website, no app installation required), which records the results anonymously as part of the study.
Each training session is completely anonymous – no conclusions can be drawn about the training results of individuals or institutions.

Open the website with the interactive instructions on your smartphone or computer. You'll find the link and your unique access code on your training package.

Dosing dye
For the disinfectant to work properly, it must be left to work for at least 30 seconds. To do this, we need a sufficient dosage.
Find your own dosage.
We need different amounts of disinfectant depending on the size of our hands. For average hands, 3 ml is recommended. In everyday life, however, too little is usually used (Ø 1.7 ml).

Step 1
Rub in without gaps
Forget for a moment that you're in training. Disinfect your first session just as you normally would. This is the best way to learn from potential mistakes.
First, disinfect your fingertips, nail folds, and thumbs, as these are the areas where germs are most concentrated. Don't forget your wrists, too.
Step 2
Check dosing quantity and wetting
To check the correct dosage, compare the color intensity with the color scale in the online instructions. Also, check your hands for any gaps in the wetting process.
Is the color only pale despite using the correct amount? Check if you spilled too much during application.
Step 3
Apply decolorizer
Use approximately the same amount of liquid as you used for coloring. Make sure there's a small amount that spills when transferring it to both hands.

Rub in without gaps
The dye will now discolor immediately. You'll immediately see the degree of wetting achieved by your individual movements.
See how you can adapt movement sequences to wet your hands quickly and completely.
Step 4
Check sequence and wetting
Check your hands thoroughly for any paint residue. This will help you identify areas that weren't touched at all or were touched too late, and which require more immediate attention in the future.
Nail folds and skin furrows, dry skin areas or long fingernails are not only more difficult to disinfect, but also areas with a high germ density.
You can solve the problem by moistening critical skin areas right from the start.

DesiCoach® 4Groups
With one DesiCoach® 4Groups set, 20 training sessions can be carried out. For repeated training, we recommend 1 set for 10 people.

One training session is enough for exactly one person. A course contains several individual training sessions to take away.
No. Registration is non-binding, and you can cancel your participation at any time without giving reasons.
Never. Participation is completely anonymous. Neither individuals nor institutions can be identified from their training results.
The training phase lasts 6-12 weeks. The entire study will run for 16 months, but your active participation will be completed after three training sessions.
You will receive interim reports and a final report for your institution. The overall results will be published in professional journals and will benefit the entire industry.
All you need is a smartphone, tablet, or computer for the online tutorial. Everything else is included in the free training package.
Yes! You can participate with 1, 2, or 3 people. Every participation is valuable for the study.
No problem. Every data point is valuable, and our study design already takes into account that not all participants will complete all three training sessions. In that case, simply skip the remaining training sessions.
