The Europe-wide study PERFECT (Pan-European Research on visual Feedback Effectiveness in Clinical hygiene Training) is carried out in cooperation between the Friedrich Schiller University Jena and the Heyfair GmbH carried out.
The aim is to investigate the effectiveness of training in hygienic hand disinfection using visual success assessment. Participants complete three standardized training sessions with DesiCoach® 2Go over a period of several weeks. The evaluation is carried out anonymously by the University of Jena on a scientific basis.

How to participate
Registration for the study is easy via the Online formEach participating facility receives training in hand disinfection and a brief guide on how to carry out the by post Participation is straightforward, anonymous, and free of charge.

This is how it works
2.1 Participants
To participate you can 1 to 3 people be selected by yourself – ideally they are staff from the hygiene sector.
Each person leads 3 training sessions with a time interval within 6 to 12 weeks The training takes place on-site at any time and lasts approximately 5 minutes.

Data protection: All training data is recorded completely anonymously – no personal or facility-related data is ever collected.
2.2Practical training with digital recording
The training is carried out with DesiCoach® 2Go, consisting of Dyers and bleachers: The training fluids are rubbed in like hand disinfectant and make the dosage and wetting gaps directly visible on the hands.
The training is accompanied by the associated Online instructionsA smartphone or computer is required for this. No other equipment is necessary.
Submit results:The results are easily entered using the online instructions and then submitted to the study. You can find access to the instructions directly on the training packaging. No worries: It is a completely normal website – eAn app does not need to be installed.

We will get back to you with the results
The study is divided into several phases and will last approximately 16 months. Following data collection, statistical analysis, preparation of a final report, and feedback to the participating clinics will follow. The results will also be published to professional circles.
During and after the study, your facility will receive results reports. This provides insight into the development of disinfection quality and potential areas for improvement.

Step 1
Dosing dye
For the disinfectant to work properly, it must be left to work for at least 30 seconds. To do this, we need a sufficient dosage.
Find your own dosing quantity. We need different amounts of disinfectant depending on the size of our hands. For average hands, 3 ml is recommended. In everyday life, however, too little is usually used (Ø 1.7 ml).
Step 1
Rub in without gaps
Forget that you are training. Disinfect during your first training session just as you normally would. This is the best way to learn from possible mistakes.
First disinfect the fingertips, nail fold and thumb. This is where the highest germ density is. And don't forget the wrists.
Step 2
Check dosing quantity and wetting
To check the correct dosage, compare the color intensity with the color scale in the online instructions. Also check your hands for any gaps in the wetting process.
Do you only have a pale coloration despite sufficient dosage? Then check whether you dripped too much when applying.
Step 3
Apply decolorizer
Use about the same amount as you would for coloring. Make sure there's a small amount of it spilling when transferring it to both hands.
Step 3
Rub in without gaps
The dye now decolors immediately. You can see immediately what wetting is achieved by your respective actions.
See how you can adjust your hand movements to really wet your hands completely.
Step 4
Check sequence and wetting
Check your hands thoroughly for possible paint residue. You will recognize which areas have not been wetted at all or too late and need more attention in the future.
Nail folds and skin furrows, dry skin areas or long fingernails are not only more difficult to disinfect, but also areas with a high germ density.
You solve the problem by wetting critical skin areas right at the beginning.
And then ...
Automatic evaluation
Wash your hands after training.
Now you can open the evaluation page to see your training results.
PERFECT:If you participate in the study, the results will be automatically and anonymously transmitted to the project participants.
